Global Allocators – “What’s your View?” Episode 5 – Let’s talk “Options” with Gamma Options Solutions CEO & Founder Hans Albrecht.

Grahame and Yves, with guest Hans Albrecht talk “Greek Alphabet; Black Scholes; Tesla & Insurance premiums for a Mustang :), owning things you like, trade offs, structural “overvaluation”; sensible ways to use options (vs weapons of mass destruction), and why they are so “popular” these day 🙂

Click HERE => for the Video of Grahame and Yves chatting with Hans, who, as we noted in the intro, has probably forgotten more about options than most of us know … Thank you! Hans.

(Recorded Mar 22, 2024):

Global Allocators – “What’s your View?” Episode 4 – A discussion with Jim Thorne, Chief Market Strategist, Wellington Altus.

An absolute pleasure and a treat for Grahame and I to have the opportunity to connect with Jim and find out what’s on his mind in terms of what to expect in terms of the investment landscape in coming years, and implications for portfolio construction.

So much to consider – and no, failing to adapt and adjust won’t get you there in as good a shape as getting it right …

We review our short journey thus far with Global Allocators, as well as revisit the purpose and objectives of Global Allocators as well

as touching on what we view as noteworthy market developments, such as:

  • Potential for an imminent policy reversal on the part of the Bank of Japan, the implications of which could conceivably be far reaching given the longstanding existence of the “Carry trade”
  • Touch on that other longstanding market “concern”, namely the yield curve inversion – observing in passing that it isn’t exactly immediately obvious at present that the FED will ease (remember about 150 bps was becoming increasingly consensus for 2024 starting late last October …)
  • Speak to potential USD weakness and its impact on commodities (observing in passing that Gold equities which have fared rather poorly for the past two years seem to be doing just a little bit better as Gold almost unnoticed crossed the USD 2,200 / oz level
  • Share some thoughts no … what else – can’t hide for AI as a gamechanger going forward …

Enjoy – reach out, share your thoughts and observations, and engage with us 🙂
